Update from the owner

Hi Erin

You can come earlier than 4:00 and park in the driveway and go to the beach. There is an outdoor shower where you can change and a bathroom accessible from the ground floor laundry yard. If you have perishable foods, the kitchen is usually cleaned first so you could unload perishables into the fridge. I just ask that you take care to not interfere with the cleaning team. The rest of the house will be ready no later than 4:00 and I’ll give you a brief welcome tour then.

Instead of keys there is a master lock combination dead bolt. The combination is 2015 and the directions are posted on the door.

In case you haven’t yet retrieved  information from the Hospitality Manager, I’m including driving directions and what you don’t need to bring [Jim: on another page]

See you on Sunday

Gayle

Directions to 8304 Ocean Drive

Directions to the house - provided by Don Don.

The address IS 8304 Ocean Drive, but that won't help too much. Since Ocean Drive doesn't really go in front of the house.   The house faces the ocean and is located between 83rd And 84th streets. You enter the house from 83rd by going in on a driveway that leads to the parking area behind the house. 83rd  Street is entered from  Atlantic Avenue (US Route 60) which parallels the ocean/beach.  Atlantic makes a sharp left turn at about that point and then becomes Shore Drive - also US Route 60. To make matters more confusing, a smaller road takes off from that corner to parallel the ocean and it is now Atlantic Avenue.  83rd street terminates shortly after you pass the driveway to the house. It is replaced by a sidewalk leading to the beach. Good luck. See you there.

Directions to the house - from the owner:

From I264 East
·      Go to end of I264, stay on 22nd street until Pacific Avenue. Turn left. Stay on Pacific; it changes its name to Atlantic Avenue at the Cavalier Hotel, c. 41st Street.
·      Stay on Atlantic Avenue until the stoplight just after 82nd street. Turn right at the light. See below “After stoplight.”

From I64 East
·      Get off exit 282, US 13 North, Northampton Boulevard North toward the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel. Go 4.6 miles.
·      Take last exit before the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel, US-60 East, Shore Drive, “To the Beaches.” Go 8 miiles.
·      After passing stoplight at First Landing State Park and  driving through 4 miles of  woods, turn left at stoplight. See below “After stoplight”.

From 13 South
·      Take first exit after the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel, onto US-60 East, Shore Drive. Turn left at the exit stoplight onto Shore Drive. Go 8 miles
·      After passing stoplight at First Landing State Park and driving through c 4 miles of woods, turn left at stoplight. See below “After stoplight”.

From Airport
·      Exit airport via main entrance/Norview Avenue to Military Highway and turn left.
·      Go 3-4 stoplights to Route 13 - Northhampton Blvd.
·      Turn left onto 13 North/ going towards the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel.
·      Exit from 13 at last exit before the Bay Bridge T unnel. "to the beaches" [I think]
·      Drive 8 miles on Shore Drive/US 60east.
·      After passing stoplight at First Landing State Park and driving through c 4 miles of woods, turn left at stoplight. See below “After stoplight”.

After Stoplight
·      Turn right immediately at the first street, which is 83rd street.
·      Go to end of 83rd street and turn into last driveway on the left. There is an empty lot on one side and a tall off-white wall on the other side.

The roads near Sandswept are a major speed trap. Observe the posted speed limits! Be especially careful to reduce speed from 35 to 25 by the time you get to the 25 sign!

Parking when there are more than three cars

Come all the way in the driveway and turn around so your car is facing out. Park along the wall on the right [as you are going out] at the widest part of the driveway. Three cars can park here comfortably while still allowing access to everyone else.

Breakfast - make your own if you want, Don makes eggs and bacons if you want them

One night of the week should be a night to go out - crab shack, seafood, something - anyone opposed to a crab shack on moral grounds?

No need to plan for vegetarian options for Erin

Hi family! Herein starts the new blog about this summer's vacation house. Since it is only a month away, don't expect this to be a voluminous blog. It will, however, be a place to keep all our information in one place - schedules of arrivals, things to do nearby, meals, what we need to bring - all the stuff that we might need to know. If you can think of something else to add here, then let me know. My goal would be that we would be able to check it out on our mobile devices while we are there for easy access.

I will add all the initial attachments about the house and try and label them for everyone. Let me know if you have any trouble with the information here.

Much love. Jim
